That’s an interesting opinion…

Hi Reader,

Who are you listening to? Not what are you listening to, though I’ve totally been loving this song

I mean who are you listening to? Who do you let influence what you think and ultimately, do?

There’s a powerful phrase I learned from my dear friend Ruqaya, that I now teach all of my clients from the beginning of our work together.

“That’s an interesting opinion.” <<That’s it. That’s the phrase.

Because time and time again, my clients come to me after they’ve let the opinions, beliefs, and stories of others influence what they do instead of tuning in to what they want and know to be true.

In essence, they’ve been sponges for far too long. Absorbing all. the. things.

My clients typically come to me after having invested in other programs, whether it be it for their business, relationships, or health–you name it, it’s likely they’ve invested in it in one way or another.

They value coaching at the highest level, find value in every investment, and fully own their results, and yet they still haven’t quite found the support they desire.

My job is to return them back to themselves over and over again.

To help them see their blindspots and bring their unconscious beliefs to the surface so they can make powerful decisions and take aligned action.

Up until working with me, they’ve been becoming increasingly saturated sponges. 🧽

Absorbing all the information-based products, the advice of everyone under the sun, and following so many people that eventually they feel like they have nothing to say.

Not because they don’t have anything to say, but because they have everythingto say.

Can you relate?

👉That’s the thing about sponges unless they’re squeezed and wrung out between uses, they retain water, get soggy, and become rather useless at actually cleaning a dish.

My clients experience this, too.

They’re insanely qualified, have a ton of both life and intellectual experience, and are total badasses.

But they’ve spent so much time learning that they forget what *they* know from time to time.

That’s why the second phrase I teach my clients is, “what knowledge are you taking for granted?” 🔥

Soaking up information is great. But when you retain it without translating it into an idea of your own and expressing it, you end up creatively frustrated (which is arguably just as bad as being sexually frustrated. Yep, I said it).

That’s why it’s important to make “that’s an interesting opinion” your default filter.

Hear the info and then decide if you want to absorb it or send it back to the person with love (you don’t actually have to say anything out loud…just to be clear).

I’ve been tested with this multiple times recently.

As I’ve been creating the Unshakeable Inner Circle, I’ve invited a few mentors into the process with me.

One told me to rewrite the landing page, another told me now might not be the best time to launch it.

Everyone has an opinion. You get to choose what you absorb and what you ignore.

(I did rework the landing page and it’s just around the corner by the way ⭕). ️

I share this to remind you that you have a choice in who you let influence your decisions. It’s your business and your life.

No matter where you are in your business/career, your success always comes back to two things: the stories you tell yourself and the stories you tell others.

When you can design the stories you tell yourself, filter the stories shared by others in an empowering way, and boldly share your own stories to articulate your value, you can finally experience success, not just chase it.

Where in your life do you need to make your default response, “that’s an interesting opinion”?

xx,

Alyssa

“Working with Alyssa is pure magic! Immediately after talking with Alyssa (like literally 30 min later), I pre-sold a spot into my new high-end group program.
