Our attention is our most sacred asset.
Stressors and distractions flood our worlds—the inner and the outer.
Give me a show like Alias, Covert Affairs, or, more recently, Killing Eve, and I can be easily distracted for hours, but at what cost?
What we tune into shapes our perception and our beliefs.
- If you tune into the tech world, you may start to believe that VC backing is the only way to build a company. Austin was full of tech bros under this spell.
- If you only tune into traditional medicine, you may start to believe the only way to heal is with prescription medication.
- If you tune into the news, you may start to believe the world is a complete dumpster fire.
- If you tune into religion, you may start to believe the most powerful source in the world is outside yourself.
- If you tune into nature, you may start believing in slow growth.
- If you tune your attention to being more loving in your relationships, you may start to see your patterns more clearly.
What we attune to shapes our reality.
After a tense moment breaks out, do you attune to the emotional world of your significant other too?
In business, do you tune into what everyone else is doing before allowing yourself to come up with an idea of your own?
We’re not taught how to direct our attention from a young age.
As kids, we’re encouraged to give our attention to adults more than our own inner fire.
So when we’re finally adults, we can have a hard time setting boundaries around our attention.
Instead, you find yourself saying yes way too much, unclear of what you want and need as you people please your way through life.
You have to know what you want to be able to tune into the things that will help you get more of what you want.
Everything is up for consideration. It’s up to you to form a perspective and decide what is best for you to tune into.
👉 Then say no to the rest. 👈
The people that master tuning their attention are the people that experience deeper fulfillment, joy, and meaning in life because they’re masters at saying no to things that don’t matter.
The status quo encourages the opposite and is highly overrated.
- What do you value?
- What do you want to embody?
- What gives you energy?
- What drains your energy?
- What do you want?
- What beliefs block you from believing you can have it?
These can be life-changing questions because they help you unlock where to direct your attention, what to tune into, and what to say no to.
Thanks for tuning in. 😉

Alyssa
